Description
Vanilla Chai Pear Butter is a delicious and aromatic spread made from ripe pears, infused with the warm spices of chai and a hint of vanilla, perfect for fall.
Ingredients

- 6 cups ripe pears, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chopped pears and lemon juice.
- Add sugar and spices to the pot, stirring well to combine.
- Cook over medium heat until the pears are soft, about 20-30 minutes.
- Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
- Continue to cook the mixture on low heat, stirring frequently, until it thickens, about 30-45 minutes.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Pour the hot pear butter into sterilized jars and seal immediately.
Notes
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- This pear butter can also be canned for longer storage.
- Adjust the sugar according to the sweetness of the pears used.
