Zombie Brain Shots

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

To create this spooky shot, you only need a handful of simple ingredients:

  • 1 oz peach schnapps – This is the sweet, fruity base.

  • ½ oz Baileys Irish Cream (or other Irish cream liqueur) – Creates the “brain” texture when layered.

  • A few drops grenadine – Adds both sweetness and the creepy, bloody “vein” effect.

  • ½ oz blue curaçao (optional) – Deepens the zombie-like appearance with a ghoulish blue-green tint.

These quantities make one shot, but you can easily scale the recipe for multiple guests.

Instructions

1. Pour the Base

Start by pouring the peach schnapps into a shot glass. This provides a fruity, clear base that sets the stage for the layering effect.

2. Layer the Irish Cream

This is where the magic happens. Using the back of a spoon, slowly pour the Irish cream over the schnapps. The cream will settle unevenly, curdling slightly and floating in thick clumps that look eerily like brain tissue.

3. Add the Grenadine

Next, drop in a few drops of grenadine. As it sinks, it drags the cream with it, creating bloody streaks that resemble veins running through the brain.

4. Optional Blue Curaçao Drizzle

For an extra eerie effect, drizzle a small amount of blue curaçao over the top. The resulting blue-green tinge adds to the drink’s grotesque, zombie-inspired look.

5. Serve Immediately

Zombie Brain Shots look their best right after being made. Serve them fresh to maximize the visual effect before the layers begin to fully settle.
