Description

Delightful apple pie biscuit sandwiches featuring flaky biscuits and spiced apple filling, perfect for any fall gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups of biscuit mix
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 cups of diced apples
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine the biscuit mix and milk in a mixing bowl until a soft dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Cut out biscuit rounds using a cutter, about 3 inches in diameter.
  5. Place diced apples in a saucepan over medium heat and add brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Cook the apple mixture until the apples soften.
  7. Layer half of the biscuit rounds in a baking dish and spoon the apple mixture on top.
  8. Top with the remaining biscuit rounds.
  9. Dot the biscuits with small pieces of butter.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

Make the apple filling a day in advance for convenience. You can also use an air fryer if preferred.
