Coral Sunset Slammer Cocktail Recipe

  • Author: Jessica
  • Total Time: 10–15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut rum
Adds a creamy, tropical depth to the drink.

  • 1 cup peach schnapps
Brings in a fruity, sweet element with a hint of floral tones.

  • 1 cup orange juice (chilled)
Provides bright citrus flavor and balances the sweetness.

  • 1 cup pineapple juice (chilled)
    Adds tartness and tropical acidity.

  • ½ cup grenadine
Creates a vibrant red layer and adds sweetness with hints of pomegranate.

  • ½ cup club soda or lemon-lime soda (chilled)
Adds fizz and a refreshing lift to the punch.

  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
Cuts through the sweetness with zesty acidity.

  • Ice cubes or frozen fruit
Keeps the drink cool and festive.

  • Garnishes (optional but highly recommended):

    • Orange slices

    • Maraschino cherries

    • Pineapple wedges

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Pitcher or Punch Bowl

Use a large glass pitcher or punch bowl that holds at least 2 quarts. This gives you enough room to stir the drink and add ice or fruit.

Step 2: Mix the Base

In your serving container, combine:

  • 1 cup coconut rum

  • 1 cup peach schnapps

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • 1 cup pineapple juice

  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice

Stir gently with a long spoon to blend the spirits and juices thoroughly.

Step 3: Add the Sparkle

Pour in:

  • ½ cup club soda or lemon-lime soda (depending on whether you want a neutral or slightly sweetened fizz)

Stir gently again. Avoid overmixing to preserve the carbonation.

Step 4: Add the Sunset

Slowly pour ½ cup of grenadine along the side of the pitcher or bowl. The grenadine will sink to the bottom, creating a layered “sunset” effect. Avoid stirring at this point if you want to preserve the visual contrast.

Step 5: Add Ice or Frozen Fruit

Toss in:

  • A generous handful of ice cubes, or

  • Frozen pineapple chunks, strawberries, or mango for added flavor and a chilled effect without dilution.

Step 6: Garnish & Serve

Garnish the pitcher with:

  • Sliced oranges

  • Pineapple wedges on the rim

  • Maraschino cherries floating on top

Serve in tall glasses over ice with fruit in each glass for presentation.

Notes

The Coral Sunset Slammer shines brightest when served fresh, but it can be made a few hours in advance. Just hold off on adding the soda and grenadine until right before serving to keep it fizzy and layered. Want to impress your guests? Pour individual servings over ice and add the grenadine in each glass for a “sunset in motion” effect.
