- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cranberries and orange zest.
- Whisk together the cream, egg, and vanilla in another bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and mix until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently to bring it together.
- Pat the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut it into wedges.
- Place the scones on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
