Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the cranberries and orange zest.
  5. Whisk together the cream, egg, and vanilla in another bowl.
  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and mix until just combined.
  7. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently to bring it together.
  8. Pat the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut it into wedges.
  9. Place the scones on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
