Description

Tender meatballs made from a blend of ground beef and pork, mixed with rice and simmered in rich marinara sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 can (15 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Italian seasoning to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, ground pork, uncooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well integrated.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Ensure they hold together well.
  3. Pour the marinara sauce and water into a large skillet, then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  4. Add the meatballs to the skillet, ensuring they are submerged in the sauce. Cover the skillet with a lid.
  5. Cook the meatballs for 30–35 minutes, flipping gently halfway through, until they are browned and cooked through, and the rice is tender.
  6. Serve warm, whether accompanied by your favorite pasta, in a sandwich, or on their own.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the meatballs ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator for up to a day or freeze them for later use. Reheat in sauce until warmed through.
