Description

A delicious grilled cheese sandwich with a crispy exterior and melty cheese inside, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of hearty bread (sourdough or whole grain)
  • 2 slices of cheese (American, cheddar, or Gruyère)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Optional fillings (crispy bacon, fresh tomato slices, or ripe avocado)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of a slice of bread and place it butter-side down in the skillet.
  3. Add slices of cheese on top, and layer any optional fillings if desired.
  4. Butter another slice of bread on one side and place it butter-side up on top.
  5. Cook until the first side is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until the cheese is melted and the bread is perfectly toasted.

Notes

For a lighter texture, consider using an air fryer at 350°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway.
