Description

A delightful Homemade Shrimp Alfredo that combines the richness of a creamy sauce with perfectly cooked shrimp and fettuccine, inviting you to savor each luxurious bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large skillet over medium heat, pour in the olive oil. Let it warm before adding the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Cook the shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, spreading them out in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  4. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, pour the heavy cream after removing it from the heat to prevent splattering. Slowly bring it to a gentle simmer, stirring consistently. Add in the grated Parmesan cheese and whisk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Season to taste: Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked pepper, adjusting based on your preference.
  6. Combine pasta and shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, and gently fold in the fettuccine. Toss until each strand is coated in the creamy sauce.
  7. Serve hot: Plate the shrimp Alfredo, garnishing each serving with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding vegetables like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes. If using frozen shrimp, ensure they are thawed and pat dry before cooking.
