Description
A comforting and nostalgic recipe for Homemade Spaghettios with Meatballs that transforms a classic into a delicious homemade meal, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 cups mini pasta (like spaghetti or shells)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Form small meatballs, about one inch in diameter.
- In a large pot, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Carefully add the meatballs to the pot, browning them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the meatballs are browned, add the tomato sauce and chicken broth to the pot. Stir gently to avoid breaking the meatballs, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- After the sauce simmers for about 5 minutes, add the mini pasta to the pot. Stir to ensure the pasta is evenly distributed.
- Cook until the pasta reaches al dente, about 10-12 minutes.
- Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, then serve warm.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Assemble meatballs a day in advance and store them in the refrigerator. Consider cooking meatballs in an air fryer or baking them for a healthier twist.
