Description

A quick and flavorful Mongolian Beef Stir Fry, featuring tender beef, vibrant vegetables, and a glossy soy sauce glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak, thinly sliced (flank steak or sirloin)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauce: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring until fully dissolved. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large skillet or wok, warm the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Cook the beef: Add the thinly sliced steak to the pan. Sear it until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add aromatics: Push the steak to one side of the skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the veggies: Combine the broccoli, bell pepper, and onion into the pan. Stir-fry everything together until the vegetables are tender, roughly 4-5 minutes.
  6. Coat with sauce: Pour the soy sauce mixture over the stir-fry. Toss everything until the beef and vegetables are generously coated in that glistening sauce.
  7. Serve and garnish: Serve your delicious stir fry over warm cooked rice with a sprinkling of chopped green onions.

Notes

Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables and adjust sweetness as desired. If you prefer a crunchier texture in the vegetables, adjust your cooking time accordingly.
