Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak, thinly sliced (flank steak or sirloin)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- Cooked rice for serving
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Mix the sauce: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce and brown sugar, stirring until fully dissolved. Set aside.
- Heat the oil: In a large skillet or wok, warm the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Cook the beef: Add the thinly sliced steak to the pan. Sear it until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add aromatics: Push the steak to one side of the skillet. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the veggies: Combine the broccoli, bell pepper, and onion into the pan. Stir-fry everything together until the vegetables are tender, roughly 4-5 minutes.
- Coat with sauce: Pour the soy sauce mixture over the stir-fry. Toss everything until the beef and vegetables are generously coated in that glistening sauce.
- Serve and garnish: Serve your delicious stir fry over warm cooked rice with a sprinkling of chopped green onions.
Notes
