- 2 cups diced apples
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine apples with cinnamon in a mixing bowl and toss to coat.
- Mix the dry ingredients in another bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Prepare the wet ingredients by blending melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Layer half of the batter in a greased baking dish, top with spiced apples, then dollop remaining batter over the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Cool slightly before serving for best results.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce for added indulgence. Can be made a day ahead and refrigerated before baking.
