Description

A delightful and creamy salad featuring pistachio pudding, crushed pineapple, and marshmallows, perfect for family gatherings and summer picnics.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (3.4 oz) pistachio pudding mix
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the pistachio pudding mix with the undrained crushed pineapple in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Gently fold in the miniature marshmallows.
  3. Add the whipped topping carefully, folding it in gently.
  4. Stir in the chopped pecans or walnuts.
  5. If using, fold in the maraschino cherries, or reserve them for topping.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
  7. Serve the chilled Watergate Salad in bowls, topping with any remaining cherries.

Notes

Letting the salad chill for longer than an hour enhances the flavors.
