Description

A simple and fun method for making homemade bread with minimal mess, resulting in deliciously soft loaves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup of warm water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 packet of active dry yeast into a large zip-top bag. Seal it and let it rest for 5-10 minutes until it froths.
  2. Add in 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Seal the bag tightly, and start kneading with your hands.
  3. Find a warm spot and let your dough rise in the bag for about 30-60 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Punch down the dough to release the air. Cut it in half to shape into two loaves. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake your loaves for 25-30 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  7. Let them cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Ensure your yeast is fresh for the best rise. Customize the bread with herbs or cheese for extra flavor.
